Following last year’s AGM it was agreed to set up a WhatsApp group to make additional announcements of forthcoming walks and to provide quick and easy communications with members – not just regular walkers but occasional walkers too. All members have been emailed a couple of times inviting them to join and, so far, 35 have done so.

The general pattern is that an announcement is made about a forthcoming week’s walks on the Sunday prior to the start of the week, which usually means a brief description of 3 walks planned for the Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Occasionally holidays and other events prevent an announcement happening but the majority have been publicised in this way since 4 December 2023.

Comments about walks and footpath issues are also encouraged but the group is primarily about walk announcements and not for general chat / photos which is better done via the Uttlesford Walkers Facebook page.
