The Uttlesford Ramblers

Making a walk a pleasure

Stour Valley Path 2017

Officially opened in 1994, the Stour Valley Path is a 60 mile regional route following the valley of the River Stour from Newmarket in the north west of Suffolk to its estuary at Cattawade, near Manningtree in Essex. This summer the group walked this in six sections on the first Saturday of each month from April to September with a minibus taking us to the start and picking us up at the end of each walk. Leaving out three small parts of the official route the walk was completed in the sections below:

April: Stetchworth to Kedington 10.6 miles

May: Kedington to Clare 10.2 miles

June: Clare to Long Melford 8.9 miles

July: Long Melford to Lamarsh 10.0 miles

August: Lamarsh to Nayland 9.3miles

September: Stoke by Nayland to Flatford Mill 8.7 miles
