The Uttlesford Ramblers

Making a walk a pleasure

April: Stetchworth to Kedington 10.6 miles

The walk officially starts in Newmarket but to avoid a lot of road walking we started out on a lovely spring morning in the village of Stetchworth which is surrounded by paddocks, home to elegant thoroughbred horses. The walk continued through these before we had the first view of the river Stour near Great Bradley and then on past Little Bradley church with its unusual round tower. We stopped at the Cock Inn, Little Thurlow for an Italian flavoured lunch before continuing the short walk to Kedington with its magnificent church known as the ‘Westminster Abbey of Suffolk’. A great first section with everyone looking forward to the next part in May.
